About Me
Welcome to my e-portfolio, I'm Lucy De Lloyd. I am a third year student at Swansea University, Wales, studying a Bachelor of Arts in American studies. Despite my focus on American history, politics and literature, I also have knowledge of media based fields such as film studies and photography. This website is a result of a set of skills that I have learned at a study abroad programme in Colorado State, Fort Collins. The course was based on new communications technologies in the USA, and broadened my knowledge in media fields.
Each year since 2010, I volunteer at Glastonbury festival of arts and music representing CND Cymru. We aim to make the public aware of the risks of relying too heavily on nuclear power.
I am currently working on two pieces of work. The first links in with the digital communications course I have taken in the states and aims to assess global internet censorship. The second is a piece on how the Vietnam war was presented through film, television and photography. My aim is to assess these mediums and conclude with a comparison about the various methods.
